MISSIONS

We feel that part of a child’s Christian education should include teaching children to reach out to others in need. For that reason, we organize a monthly mission outreach for our families. ​

Completed Missions (2023-2024 school year)

  • November - Thanksgiving baskets for families of Contact Ministries

  • December - angel tree for families of Contact Ministries


Completed Missions (2022-2023 school year)

  • November/December - angel tree for families of Contact Ministries

  • March/April - During the Week of the Young Child, we collected canned food for the James Project; snacks for Compass for Kids; socks for Contact Ministries; toiletries for Rutledge Youth Foundation; and washcloths & batteries for Mini O'Beirne Crisis Nursery.


Completed Missions (2021-2022 school year)

  • November - canned food drive for Senior Services of Central Illinois

  • December - angel tree for families of Contact Ministries

  • February - Soles4Souls shoe drive

  • April - We celebrated the Week of the Young Child by collecting donations of items for Contact Ministries (toothbrushes), Love Bloom (birthday supplies), Jane Addams Elementary (food items), Ronald McDonald House (trash bags), and the APL (cat/dog toys & paper towels).


Completed Missions (2019-2020 school year)

  • November - collected food items to fill Thanksgiving baskets for the families of Contact Ministries

  • December - collected Christmas gifts for the families of Contact Ministries and made Christmas cards for nursing home residents

  • March - collected art supplies and personal items for the women and children of MERCY Communities (done during COVID shutdown)

  • April - collected food and personal items for Contact Ministries (done during COVID shutdown)

  • October - decorated pumpkins for nursing homes

  • November - collected food items to fill Thanksgiving baskets for the families of The James Project

  • December - collected Christmas gifts for the students of District 186 & made Christmas cards for nursing home residents

  • October - decorated pumpkins for nursing homes

  • November - collected food items to fill Thanksgiving baskets for the families of The Outlet

  • December - collected various food items & toiletries for The James Project, Compass Backpack Feeding Program and The Outlet

  • February - collected socks & underwear for The James Project

  • November - collected food items to fill Thanksgiving baskets for the families of Contact Ministries

  • December - collected Christmas gifts for the families of Contact Ministries and made Christmas cards for nursing home residents
